CARING WITH OUR HEARTS AND OUR HANDS
Timberlake Care Center's people make the difference. Our
professional staff averages more than 10 years of nursing
experience.
Ample continuing education opportunities ensure that our nurses'
professional skills remain at a high level. The nursing staff
meets twice a month for in-service training and each nurse
creates a personal plan for professional growth.
Twenty-four hour nursing care is provided for a variety of
medical conditions, and it is individualized based on the
needs of each resident. Resident care needs range from those
who need minimal assistance with daily living activities to
those with acute healthcare problems. Consistent care is ensured
through a computerized healthcare information system, call
lights, individual medical charts and nursing report meetings
at shift changes. Cognitively impaired residents wear electronic
alarm signal bracelets to assist our staff with wander monitoring.
We maintain a separate unit within our facility to care for
acutely ill residents who qualify for Medicare or insurance
coverage. Private and semi-private room accommodations are
available.
We
assist residents with a variety of medical conditions, including
diabetes, broken hips, kidney disease, renal disease, cancer,
heart disease, cognitive impairments and other ailments. Mobile
lab and x-ray services let residents enjoy the convenience of
diagnostic tests at home. Residents appreciate the convenience
of our handicapped-accessible bus for area hospital or doctor
appointments if other transportation is not available.

OFFERING COMPREHENSIVE, QUALITY CARE
At Timberlake Care Center, we assist residents with physical
and emotional
wellness. Our team of nurses, social workers, therapists,
dieticians and administrative staff work together to provide
comprehensive, quality care. The facility owners are on-site
daily to monitor the quality of care.
The director of social services counsels families and residents
to ease the transition. She communicates with nurses, housekeeping
staff and everyone who interacts with residents to watch for
subtle signs of stress or behavior changes. This team philosophy
creates a proactive rather than a reactive approach to mental
health. Because our director of social services has extensive
training in social gerontology, she is best-equipped to help
families cope with guilt, facilitate grief counseling, offer
referrals to specialists, assist with discharge planning and
serve as a patient advocate. She also teaches nurses about
stress management and signs of depression during in-service
training.
In-house therapists are available seven days a week. Our
therapy coordinator
works with physical, speech, occupational and restorative
therapists to improve residents' balance, sensory integration,
speech and occupational skills. Therapists work closely with
nurses to detect physical or speech problems early and frequently
lead in-service sessions. Timberlake Care Center also conducts
home visits to evaluate the safety and functionality of kitchens,
bathrooms and other living areas for residents who return
home.
